Steak77 | Perfect First Fine Dining Experience

5.28.2017
Fine Dining, when people hear it some cringe because we all know how much the food costs and the small serving. I am actually one of those people who turn away from fine dining since I know it'll be pricey, however a thought came in that at times I need to treat myself every once in a while especially when I know I did a great job at work or if I did something good. Admit it, working hard drains our bodies and minds and we need to refuel it again; find an inspiration or reward yourself.

Food is one of the best reward I can give myself, and eating somewhere worthy would do it. Steak77 is one of the places we tried that is worthy for rewarding yourself. It's a local concept that specializes in steaks and other products. They just opened last October 2016, located at Timog Avenue, Quezon City. They promote Western and Asian theme and is known for its free bread at each table.

For fine dining first timers, we recommend you to try Steak77 first :)

Owner sir Ernie Chan loves steak and so opened his own restaurant to share with us what he loves. Steak77 only serves the quality meat, prime rib-eye grade 4, to customers and that's what makes them stand out, plus they have a kiddie meal if your planning to bring kiddos. The kids meal includes pasta red/white sauce and chicken/hungarian sausage (P170).

They also hold events like birthdays, baptism and meetings for 40px.

Their wine selection is exclusive and these wines are matched per steak to compliment emphasize flavors of the meat. You can ask the staff what kind of wine they would recommend for your order.

ROASTED BONE MARROW (P390)
The roasted bone marrow is from Kitayama Wagyu, high end. The process is they torch the bone marrow before serving to glaze it and for the oil to ooze. Better eat this immediately before it greases, and we don't recommend this if you have high blood pressure. It's sided with bread and jam plus fresh greens, i prefer eating it with the greens.

STEAK77 HOUSE SALAD (P460)
*RECOMMENDED
The ID of Steak77. Composed of fresh greens, candied walnuts, their version of balsamic vinaigrette, with apples. I love how harmonious every composition is with each other. the apples work well with the candied walnuts!

TARO CHIPS
*RECOMMENDED
Since fries are overrated they used the local ones, taro, and turned it into a high class appetizer. I actually loved this one since it's local and Chili Aioli sauce caught my taste buds.

SPAGHETTI W/ TRUFFLED LOBSTER BRANDY SAUCE (P760)
The difference of this pasta is they use truffled oil and fresh lobster and lobster stock is also added. The oil is only used to add the scent of truffle to the pasta. What I loved about this pasta is the lobster! And again best eaten while its warm.

STEAK77 RIB-EYE STEAK (P725 per 100 grams)
*RECOMMENDED
Added in this steak is a secret recipe, that's why it's special and delectable. The highlight for this is it's prime rib-eye, grade 4. This is one of the best steaks I've ever tried and I fully recommend you should try this one. Flavors are spot, plus the sides compliment the meat perfectly.

US ANGUS TOMAHAWK STEAK (P750 per 100 grams)
*RECOMMENDED
The tomahawk is a regular rib-eye and the bone is still attached to it. Again the flavors are spot on! You will never go wrong if you order this. This is also good for sharing for 2-3 people. They serve 2 kinds of sauces for the steak, the red wine sauce and the pepper corn sauce, I recommend you try the pepper corn sauce.

BOURBON GLAZED BABY BACK RIBS (P790)
*RECOMMENDED
This is not the common ribs from New Orleans. Only two spices are used and reducted with soy sauce then glazed with honey. Sided with corn, taro chips and fries. This meal is good for sharing, but if you want you can have it for one person. The meat is tender and falls off the bones easily.

BANANA FOSTER (P180)
*RECOMMENDED
This particular dessert is cooked in front of you. You can watch the video in this link. EVERYTHING IS HEAVENLY. You have the vanilla ice cream, banana, and oh they also flambe this to perfection.

It is not bad to reward yourself when you know you deserve it.
That mindset changed how I look at life, so I mostly reward myself with food! It fuels me, which makes me work harder so I always look forward to the day when I will reward myself again.

This coming "swelduhan" if you think you did something pretty well or deserve a break and want to eat somewhere fancy with your loved one of officemates Steak77 is the place you HAVE TO TRY! They serve GREAT, GENEROUS and FLAVORFUL food and every penny is worth it.

OVERALL:
Food - Perfection, there's not one thing you will not like in their selection. High quality ingredients are used per dish.
Price - I know it's pricey for the average person but for the ingredients, presentation, quality and service is one of the best. Also as I said earlier, it's that time where you can treat yourself to somewhere fancy.
Serving - Generous, unlike what we see with other fine dining restaurants.
Service - Attentive, the staff are alert with our needs and they refill our glasses if ALMOST empty.
Parking - I know it's hard to find parking spaces in Timog but they will guide you as to where you can park, and they have a space beside them that will soon be open for their customers.
Ambiance - Relaxing

Beach Born | Hair Products You'll Love

5.24.2017
A lady's hair is her crowning glory, so we have to take care of it. Washing is one way of keeping it in good shape, however washing with shampoo everyday may cause it to become dry, dull and easily break. As some of you may know I have been coloring and bleaching my hair for some time now and yes it may damage my hair big time. I don't want to get bald or have thin hair when I grow older so I've done some research on how to keep my hair healthy and strong while keeping up with coloring it.

One way of keeping it healthy is to wash with conditioner often rather than with shampoo. So my routine would be to wash it with conditioner then wait for one to two days before washing again, depends if it gets really hot I need to wash the next day. For the days I don't wash my hair I use a dry shampoo to keep the oil off. I use the Beach Born Dry Shampoo.

DRY SHAMPOO ( P218 150ml )

I have been wanting to get my hands on this product, and I'm glad I've finally tried it. The dry shampoo helps prevent your roots from getting oily, keeping it fresh and adding volume to limp hair as well.

Directions:
- Spray on roots and tips to get excess grease
- Wait a few seconds then finger style it!

My experience:
It helped a lot with my colored hair, since I don't want to wash it everyday and it keeps the oil off my roots. What I do is spray it all over my roots and dry it with a hair blower or the electric fan then style it after. It doesn't have a strong smell, and you can feel the powdery substance after it dries. I also want to try their Sea Salt Spray!

SUNSET SPRAY ( P175 100ml )
Another issue is using flat iron or curling iron, it makes our hair dry and it may break off easily. Using iron everyday without heat protection spray may damage our hair big time. I mostly iron my hair since it's slightly buhaghag and I want to keep it in shape. I've been looking for heat protecting spray that doesn't break the bank and it's the Beach Born Sunset spray.

Ingredients:
- Water, VCO, Lavender, Vitamin E

Directions:
- Apply on towel dry hair

My experience:
- After I towel dry my hair I spray some on the tip and all over my hair to give good coverage. Next is I air dry it or use the blower then it's good to go for the flat iron! It only has a bit of smell since it's infused with lavender and VCO.

For now I'm happy with these products, they do what it says are the claims plus it's very affordable! If you want to check out their products click here

Adventure Food Park

5.21.2017

FOOD PARK INVASION ALERT!
Since a lot of Food Parks are spawning everywhere in the Metro we decided to visit one that caught our attention. Adventure Food Park is located at Aurora Boulevard, in front of St. Paul University. The food park was built thru the love for adventure of the owners, and since they have a small background about food service they managed to put up a food park.

What makes Adventure Food Park different are the small activity area they have for customers, like swings and a small tree-house-like cafe located at the third floor. We provided a video for you guys so you can see the whole place :)

Louchel's Waffle House is our first stop!
This is the concessionaire in the area, it has 2 floors. On the first floor is the counter where you will order and several tables. I love how they designed the place! It's colorful and vibrant. However the area below the stairs is a bit messy, it's where they stock the cloths I think they use for the 2nd floor.

They serve lots of cookies and yummy cupcakes!

The second floor is a shoes off area. They have lots of stuffed toys and pillows you can borrow and sit on. Plus they have these cute floral headbands for your #ootd shots!

STUPID CUPID OVERLOAD MILKSHAKE
This cute Milkshake is a strawberry based milkshake with cotton candy, marshmallows and a heart shaped candy! Perfect for couples to share if ever you're celebrating :)

TRIPLE TOPPERS
Waffle with vanilla ice cream on top! Better eat this before the ice cream melts :)

NACHOS OVERLOAD
*RECOMMENDED
One of the most ordered and best Nachos! Why? Because of the cheese sauce in the middle! If you're still not satisfied with the cheese topping, then feel free to dip it to the gooey cheese sauce in the middle!

Serving our favorite sisig! What I like about them is how they serve their food, they plate in cute small kawali

Look HOW CUTE!

PORK SISIG WITH RICE
*RECOMMENDED
Pork Sisig with rice, soy sauce and garlic mayo. Just look at the kawali and the rice kawali! I love how they put humor on the plating, and it's very catchy plus instagrammable. Since small cooking materials are popular now, why not serve it to the customers. Food tastes great, and we didn't have a hard time eating even if everything is small.

PANCIT SISIG WITH RICE
If rice is still not enough, you can try their pancit sisig. It's a bit salty but the calamansi will help neutralize it.

If you've seen the colored patties in Sponge Bob, this is exactly like that but better!

RED BACONATOR
*RECOMMENDED
The word BACON is the selling point here for me, because who does not love bacon? They serve generous amounts of ingredients and thick cut fries plus wedges!

BLACK DOUBLE DECKER
Don't worry it doesn't make your tongue black! This burger is a quarter pound double cheese one and my it's DELICIOUS!

Everything about sausage because hotdogs are overrated.

PIZZTOP PIZZA FRIES SAUSAGE
*RECOMMENDED
Pizza fries?! Yaas, you heard it right. Instead of the regular pizza dough, they put on the toppings over fries and damn it's yummy!

Inspired by Alice in wonderland, snacks in wonderland has the best snacks you can try!

This tray includes all our favorite snacks, pork pops, chicken pops, fries, potato balls and cheese sauce. What I recommend and loved was the wonderland potato balls! Perfect when dipped in the cheese sauce.

Hubby's Coffee and Toast
A cute concessionaire with milkshakes and other snacks as well.

BISCOFF ICE STORM
*RECOMMENDED
Inspired by the biscoff biscuit, this milkshake was created.

HUBBY'S SAVORY TOAST
The right amount of merienda that will make you satisfied! The toast consists of sausage and bacon topped with cheese and japanese mayo side.

GOOEY SMORES
*RECOMMENDED
Never ever forget dessert! Their gooey smores made my day! The toast is very soft plus the melted marshmallow is perfection on top.

HICKORY WINGS BBQ
The right amount of spice for wings. I'm not sure if they serve rice, but these are best paired with one.

If you're into persian food, this is your corner.

DONER KEBAB
What made them different is their rice, it's mixed with turmeric so the flavors of the kebab pops out. The sauce is also different, which is yogurt based. I love how everything melts together and is well balanced.

CHICKEN HALAL
*RECOMMENDED
This meal will not let you down! The flavors are alive and you can taste how the ingredients mix together harmoniously.

The cutest and happiest corner at the food park! I love the flower cutouts :)

BLISTEAK SIRLOIN BURGER
Burger overload! This burger is the biggest I've seen so far, it's covered with fries and nachos and tastes good as well. Good for sharing!

GOOD BYE PHILIPPINES
*RECOMMENDED
Yes, you read it right. This dish is named "good bye Philippines" why? Because all of this causes high blood haha! Still these grilled pork parts are the best pulutan for barkadas. Just imagine drinking with your friends and having a good time, hmm!

TAPANG KABAYO
*RECOMMENDED
I thought I didn't hear it right when they said horse meat, but it is! The name bothered me but the taste is THE BEST! The meat is tender and they cooked it right. Recommend this to you guys! You should try this out!
