A Glimpse of BenCab Museum

1.18.2016
Have you ever watched a movie, saw a beautiful location they went to and wanted to visit that place immediately? I have. After watching "That Thing Called Tadhana" and spotting BenCab Museum I immediately fell in love and want to visit. Last January 5-7 we had a vacation int Baguio City, just to get away from the Urban stress for a while. One of the places we had on our list was BenCab Museum, not only because we saw it in a movie but it's also a National pride.

A bit of introduction, BenCab Museum is owned by Benedicto Reyes Cabrera who is popularly know as the master of contemporary Philippine art. His paintings and prints are widely exhibited across Asia, Europe and United States. Benedicto was also conferred in 2006 by former Pres. Arroyo the Order of National Artist for Visual Arts.

A 15 minute drive from Baguio City BenCab is located at Km.6 Asin Road. You can either ride a taxi, a jeep or bring your car. For this we rode a taxi from Casa Vallejo and I think we paid P100+, by the way all the taxi drivers in Baguio are polite and good. Upon entrance you will pay P120 (General Admission) P100 (Students with valid ID) and P80 for Seniors and PWD. There are set of rules they have found on the website, a guided tour can also be arranged at the reception.

I got so excited that I forgot to take a lot of pictures :( The place is amazing and it has 3 floors. There are a lot of galleries, some are BenCab Gallery, Cordillera Gallery, Erotica Gallery and Gallery Indigo. Personally I loved the Gallery Indigo where 38 artists displayed their artworks.

Cafe Sabel, the vegetables and herbs are sourced in BenCab's farm so everything is fresh!
Open except Mondays from 9:00am - 6:00pm

BenCab Farm & Garden definitely stole my breath away. The view is magnificent, mountains, mini forest, the West China Sea, fresh spring water and a pond full of koi fish are found in this haven. This garden will absolutely relax your mind from urban life, kung pwede lang ako magstay ng matagal dito I will! haha

There are also a lot of spots for the selfie addict, whether posing for an #ootd or just simply savoring the moment.

The Erotica Gallery O_o

BenCab Museum imparts inspiration to young artists and gives serenity to those who finds it in art. Their vision is to bring arts closer to the people and they are committed to the promotion of arts and preservation.
