The Plantation | Your Barkada's New Food Destination

Barkada nights are essential, it's the time you and your friends catch up with each other's lives and bond. These barkada nights are often partnered with good food and drinks and I know a lot of restaurants are already out there to provide customer's needs. In Ortigas, where offices are established, I found a place that's been providing delicious comfort food for 9 years! The Plantation restaurant has been of service for its appetizing dishes and exclusive drinks to people who want to relax with friends, unwind from a stressful day's work or have a great Friday night.

Easy to locate, The Plantation is located at Sapphire road near Robinsons Galleria. You can commute, ride a grab or taxi or bring your own car! It's a 2-floor restaurant with spacious interiors and lots of tables and chairs. I remember feeling really cold in this place, don't worry when it's jam-packed it'll be way better. The Plantation is very popular and packed with customers weekend nights or sometimes mornings with employees getting off work. Not only do they serve delicious details but they are also popular with their drinks here!

Let's check the dishes they served! They have a wide variety of food selection, from chicken, beef, fish, vegetables, appetizers, drinks, and desserts I think they have it all! From that wide range, they served us some mouth-watering dishes! Also if you happen to book at Go Hotels, The Plantation serves their breakfast and they have a different menu for that.

GRILLED MEDITERRANEAN PORK CHOPS - 280PHP

Starting off with the pork chop. One of their best sellers and I know why! The pork is tender when you bite or slice and it's overflowing with great flavors and spices. You can taste the smokiness to it and it's not that salty, they mastered the perfect balance of pepper spice. I must tell you if you are on a diet the mushroom pilaf rice is not enough. The portions are also good.
*TIP: This dish is good for 2 persons too if you want to save on that budget, just add another rice!

3 SAUSAGE PLATTER - 395PHP

For pulutan I recommend the 3 Sausage Platter with a side of their homemade potato chips. It has Hungarian, Italian and Bratwurst sausage. If I can finish one meal here, it's the sausage platter! Swear, panalo 'to!

I honestly recommend their Laing, if you can, order a whole plate! It's not spicy but you can request them to add chili in it. The lechon kawali and pinakbet are also good! Perfect for pulutan as well.

Their crispy pata is one good dish! Their grade-A pata is the best for any occasion, birthdays, party or just basic inuman. The skin is very crispy, nakaka kilig!

CRISPY PORK SISIG - 180PHP

They have a different spin on their Crispy Pork Sisig, they say it's a hit or miss for customers but for us, it's definitely a HIT! What's different here is they added red and green bell pepper which adds another taste to it. Even if it was not consumed immediately we still tasted the crispiness to it.

Here are two of my favorite dishes so far, well I think they are all my favorite because they are so darn good! The chicken parmigiana has a good portion and it's smothered in cheese! I'm sure you'll get full with just this dish.

The seafood puttanesca I also really liked, it has a generous amount of shrimp and squid and other seafood as well. This dish is actually heavy and you'll get full! I suggest sharing this one.

MATCHA LAVA CAKE

I'm not a fan of anything Matcha, but I was surprised when their Matcha Lava cake was a hit for me! The matcha syrup had the perfect balance of sweetness, the cake is moist and soft as well. I was surprised by this one and recommend it!

HALO-HALO

Their Halo-Halo is also a must-try, topped with Ube Gelato and shaved ice milk this is a hit during the summer season! 

LAVA CAKE

You should not miss their lava cakes! If you enjoy dark chocolate, this is the dessert for you. Personally and surprisingly I liked the Matcha better but this one is not too sweet as well. Thumbs up! 

The Plantation is not only popular for its comfort food but their drinks as well. They have an in-house barista who makes REALLY GOOD DRINKS! They served a few to us, tanghaling tapat palang napasubo kami sa drinks! 

MOJITO -180PHP

SERIOUSLY THE BEST MOJITO I HAVE TASTED! The alcohol is not that strong, I bet you can have 3 of these! It's very refreshing and cool.

FLAVORED BEER

Their most popular beer is the flavored beer! We tried the green apple and let me tell you it's so good! They also have salted caramel, caramel, and kiwi flavor. They use san miguel pale pilsen and add the syrup. This is a must-try!

Ladies, their Frozen Margarita is also a great option, it has the right amount of kick and it's delicious too!

The Cha's Cucumber Brush has a stronger taste in the three cocktails served. It consists of cucumber and gin.

If you want to slow down a bit or get your tummy to digest try our coffees as well.

Did I mention they are an official distributor of Jack Daniel's? Yup! They have a lot of Jack Daniel's here which you won't find in any bar. We're lucky to try the Tennessee Honey, let me tell you just one sip almost knocked me out! LOL but it's actually good, you can smell the honey and taste it after. It's very mild and very good!

They have another branch at Makati, whichever you're closer to. I recommend The Plantation to everyone, not just barkadas but also families. They also accept birthdays and any other occasions. They have a lot to offer that we have not yet tried, I hope you can try this place as well and see for yourself!

Moonleaf Celebrates 9th Anniversary

As of today, Milktea has been a part of every Filipino lifestyle. Where ever you go, may it be the mall or just outside your house you see a small kiosk or a full store. Milktea shops are booming everywhere, but even before all these hype came about there are still OG Milktea shops we'll always go back to. I'm very happy to be celebrating with Moonleaf their 9th year anniversary! With this celebration, you can buy 1 Wintermelon Milktea for just 9 pesos for the first 100 customers worldwide!

I'm really glad to be invited and experience this celebration with them and see how many people love this brand. At their Maginhawa branch, they recently renovated the place to welcome a new year and provide a fresh and spacious shop for their customers. I really love how the interiors look, aside from the interiors they have a new line of drinks as well.

Moonleaf continues to innovate and adapt with what's new in the Milktea scene. They also recently introduced the Cheese Cloud line where your drinks have a cloudlike cheese froth topping on them. They also gave us some of their food and desserts too!

They offer light snacks to rice meals too! I really like the fries and pasta especially the Chicken Alfredo.

Taiwan Excellence eSports Cup 2019

We all know Pinoys loooove to play eSports like CS:GO, League of Legends, Rocket League and many more! For some people, this is their profession already and some just a hobby. To be better at these games we make sure that we have the best gears or equipment to win, aside from the skills. I, although I don't play professionally, also make sure I have the fastest and best laptop and parts to ace my work. That's why I was glad to experience this year's Taiwan Excellence eSports Cup. Talented Pinoys got together with Taiwan's best gaming products last October 4-6 which was held at SM City North EDSA, The Block Atrium. Guests, gaming enthusiasts, and spectators were treated to a demonstration of how the synthesis of Pinoy prowess Taiwan Excellence can elevate the local eSports community.

The 3-day event held an exciting experience for all gamers, guests and spectators to witness. Highlighting exhilarating tournaments for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) and League of Legends, the teams who vied for a slice of the competition's P430,000 prize pool showed how fabulous gameplay can be further boosted through the use of high-quality gaming devices from top Taiwan brands.

To provide the complete experience, booths of Taiwan's top brands were out on display for guests and spectators to try for themselves. Among these were the Asus Republic of Gamers (ROG), Gigabyte Aorus, Transcend and T-force, Kingmax, Zyxel, XPG, Zadak and G.Skill. Two booths include 10 units of gaming desktops for guests to try out and play games like CS:GO and league of legends.

The event was started by the ever energetic host "Eruption", with guests celebrity cosplayer Myrtle Sarrosa. While Ashley Gosiengfiao made an appearance the next day to meet and greet her fans.

Also featured in the event is a cosplay competition where cosplayers dressed up as their favorite characters and fans and guests can also take their photos as well. The event was also packed with entertainment from UPeepz Dance Crew and the pop-rock band GraceNote.

The event was not only for guests and spectators present to enjoy the live tournament but also worldwide, as eSports fans witnessed it through Taiwan Excellence's facebook page live streaming.

With more Filipino getting into gaming, streaming, and professional eSports, Taiwan promises to strengthen its commitment to support aspiring eSports athletes and budding enthusiasts by making their latest and most advanced gaming devices and products more easily accessible to Filipino consumers.
