How To Turn Newbies Into Pros | Grocery Shopping

6.23.2020

Every once in awhile, we’ll be pushed to do things we don’t normally do. For some of us, going to do the groceries is something that’s way outside our comfort zones. It’s true—the reality is there will be people, who are totally clueless when it comes to buying groceries. But that’s okay, it’s nothing to be ashamed about, as everyone can always learn something new and get better at it.

What’s most important when it comes to buying groceries, especially during this pandemic, is making the most out of your grocery trips. You’ll want to be in and out of the store as fast as you can like a real supermarket pro in order to avoid risks to yourself and your family.

Here are some tips to help you be a better grocery shopper in the new normal:

  1. Write down a carefully planned grocery list

To make the most out of each grocery trip, you’ll have to step up your planning. That means estimating what you’ll need to buy and how much of it you’ll need to buy (within your budget, of course) in order to prolong the time it takes until your next grocery trip. You may have to calculate more thoroughly than usual here, but if it means being able to do more physical distancing and reducing the risk of the virus, it’ll be for the better.

  1. Go extra early or in off-peak hours to avoid crowds

Many people will be thinking the same thing and this will be harder than it sounds, but you should try to avoid times when the supermarket has more people. While stores will enforce a maximum capacity limit, you’ll still want to avoid people as much as you can. Try to go extra early so that stock doesn’t run out on you, or figure out the times when there are fewer people in the store—and of course, don’t forget your protective gear!

  1. Make a list of “plan B” items

But sometimes, no matter how careful you plan, no matter how early you go, there may be some items and products that won’t have stock. If, for example, there is no more of a certain ingredient in the store shelves, you should be ready with a quick replacement so that you don’t spend too much time in the supermarket, risking yourself further.

Fortunately, there’s always something that works, such as your trusted kitchen and cooking partners from NutriAsia, which have been delicious staples of households for decades. In the company’s latest video, a clueless dad calls up his son to ask for his help in preparing a special meal to surprise Mom, and

the resulting adventure is nothing short of adorable, thanks to the help of some handy NutriAsia products like the UFC Spaghetti Supreme Pack. You can watch the video here.

No matter how challenging situations might be, it’s definitely easy to make the most of them—and your grocery trips—with NutriAsia’s products!

Our Story at Dumdoughph

6.22.2020

When I was in high school I remember someone asking me what I wanted to do in 10 years and I told them I want to set up a cafe. 10 years later and my goal was not yet achieved, but that doesn’t mean that my dream of someday owning a cafe faded. It has always been at the back of my mind, and I continue to work hard to at least have enough budget to start small. I’ve spent a lot of time researching business ideas and even considered franchising. But at the end of the day, I settled on working on my own brand. This quarantine period, I was finally given the chance to push through, start small, and dip my foot into this big pool of food industry.

I thought about selling a lot of products – from pastries, food trays, and even meat. But my love for desserts helped me settle on Peanut Butter and Homemade Ice Cream! I love sweets so why not start with that? I thought of peanut butter because Pinoys loooove palaman on their bread and I wanted to have a go and provide that for them. We chose ice cream is because my mom loves it.

Having that settled, we proceeded to think of a name for our store. We wanted something cute and catchy. On this one, Kevin immediately suggested “Dumdough”, the name we call our dog! Side note: It’s a little funny because our dog is really cute but looks a little dumb (lol) hence the name Dumdough. I also wanted to put my own touch to the brand so we added an owl on the logo since we both have big and sharp eyes. Kidding aside we wanted to make sure that Kevin, my mom, and I have our own bits and pieces into this brand.

Currently, we’re offering 3 ice cream flavors - mango, cheese, and cookies & cream, but we plan to expand soon. For the Peanut Butter, we have Plain and Super Seed which has pumpkin and sunflower seeds that are very nutritious! Building this product list took a lot of time and research, especially since we’re not trained chefs, but we’re proud to have these out.

Starting our own business was a bit of a challenge especially since we’re all scared of the spread of the virus through physical contact. So having a contactless payment option was a must for us when we launched. For this, I downloaded PayMaya Negosyo, an app that allows small business owners like me to accept cashless payments. There are three ways to receive payment using this app:

  • Accept payments from PayMaya users via PayMaya QR code (this QR code can be shared on social media and messaging apps)

  • Receive payments from upgraded PayMaya users through the Send Money function of the app

  • Process bank transfer from any Insta-Pay participating bank and e-wallet in the Philippines

Business owners can accept up to P250,000 monthly. They can also transfer the money to their bank account via Instapay.

Having PayMaya Negosyo on hand is really convenient. With this, I don’t have to worry about getting the virus because I can practice social distancing more effectively, even for my payment transactions with customers.

PayMaya also offers 1%, 10%, and 100% cashback on QR transactions. Since I have a QR code for my business, I can easily offer this promo to my customers, without incurring additional expenses. As a business owner, I really find this really helpful in giving my customers extra perks.

It’s really easy to register and use this app, you just have to download from Google PlayStore. If you have an existing PayMaya account you will need a new number for the PayMaya Negosyo app. After you register they will process it within 48hrs, but I got mine verified within just 10 mins! For more details, you can check out https://www.PayMaya.com/negosyo-merchant

Thank you so much for reading our story, we hope to reach and serve more satisfied customers and grow the business. All the praise and glory to our God.

6.18.2020

Father’s Day is coming up this weekend, and while the current public health situation means we can’t go out and celebrate as we used to, it won’t stop us from enjoying our family’s company.

Celebrating Father’s Day under the New Normal entails that we have to be more mindful about physical distancing, including staying at home as much as possible. So if you’re looking for ways to honor Dad this coming Sunday, having a nice family lunch or dinner with great food from his favorite restaurants is a great idea.

You can easily organize Father's Day celebrations from the comfort of your own home as most restaurants today already accept online transactions. And with PayMaya, paying for your orders is not only much easier, it is also more rewarding.

Pay for your meals using only the mobile number registered to your PayMaya account for an added layer of convenience and security. With this payment option from PayMaya, you no longer have to input your card details on the website which makes paying much quicker and easier. By paying online, you also avoid the risk caused by cash handling. And when you pay with PayMaya, you can even enjoy 1%, 10%, or 100% BalikBayad on your order.

The possibilities are limitless!

3.     Central Delivery (https://centraldelivery.ph/)

Noypi Health Workers Around The World | DOT Pays Tribute

6.12.2020

As the world emerges from quarantine measures and more places are being declared safe from COVID-19, let us not forget the many Filipino health workers who have been risking their lives from the start of the pandemic, and who will continue to brave the front lines, thousands of miles away from home.

Following “Smile,” DOT’s inspirational tribute to Filipino frontliners, “Noypi” honors over 254,000 doctors, nurses, caregivers, hospital staff, and other healthcare workers who form part of the 10 million OFWs around the world.

Originally performed by the band Bamboo, Noypi’s surging melody and rousing lyrics are made tender and poignant when sung by 16-year-old Katching Silvestre to a choir-like vocal arrangement by her father Monet Silvestre.

We celebrate this Independence Day by standing with our frontliners. Your dedication to the profession has made an immense contribution to global recovery, and we are all deeply proud to say, “Hoy, Pinoy ako!”

Footage used in the video was crowdsourced, and all production was done remotely.
