Meat Depot | Shop + Dine

Meat Depot has been one of the places I was always curious about whenever we pass by Banawe, luckily we've been invited to see what's inside and let me share the details with you. First off, Meat Depot was established in June 2014 with the purpose of bringing quality meats closer to consumers for food institutions and household, and cooked meats for hungry diners. Meat Depot is a butcher shop and a kitchen on the other.

In Meat Depot you get to choose in their wide variety of meat, fresh, chilled and frozen. You can also customize the cut you want in their butcher station. The also have imported meats like Wagyu, Ribeye and the like. Plus if you crave for Sarangani Bay products they have it here as well.

Samgyupsal at home is possible with Meat Depot, they have a while freezer dedicated for these meats and these are a lot!

Upstairs is their kitchen and dining area where steaks are cooked by their skilled grill men according to customer's preference.

For the seniors discounts are all applicable whether you dine of purchase their meats.

Their chilled meats are also available fro takeout if you want to cook it yourself at home or stock up with your fave meat.

For the kitchen just add 100 pesos for the paluto and that is already inclusive of rice.

ANGUS RIB EYE (BLACK MOUNTAIN)

I personally tasted the Medium Rare one and I love how tender the meat is plus the gravy and mashed potato is spot on! I will definitely order this one again!

LIEMPO

OMG their Liempo is a must try!!! I'm telling you this one is different from all the Liempo you've tasted before. The meat is grilled to perfection and the marinate is SPOT ON. Perfect to pair with their spicy vinegar.

PORK CHOP

Another heavenly meat to try, this one is soaked in their signature marinate and grilled tenderly!

For the paluto you can choose either rice or mashed potato and mushroom gravy or spicy pepper.

SMOKED BANGUS

Perfectly smoked and salted milkfish from Sarangani Bay, yet soft and juicy in texture. It's smoked specially and carefully, cooked twice for maximum flavor impact.

MARINATED BANGUS

Premium boneless milkfish from Sarangani Bay marinated to perfection in the classic blend of fresh black pepper, garlic, salt and vinegar.

For the paluto the 100 peso charge is inclusive of rice, egg and vinegar.

Overall:

FOOD - So far from what we have tasted everything tasted so good, the marination was spot on.

PRICE - reasonably fair because it still is quality meat and some are also imported. For dining the 100 pesos paluto charge is alright.

SERVING - Servings are big and hindi ka lugi

AMBIANCE - It has that industrial interiors, the palce is also well ventilated

PARKING - They only have a few spaces in front and they are sharing it with other tenants as well, but you can easily commute to this area.

BERDE | Going Green Shouldn't Be Expensive

Nowadays people are more aware about the environment, concerns about plastic usage, chemical ingredients in our daily essentials, and any type of non-biodegradable waste is becoming a hot issue. I, personally, am concerned of the things I use whether it's a body essential or things I normally use from my daily life. We all want to make a difference in this world that's why we need to start with ourselves, whether it's a small change it will soon make a difference and ripple effect to our neighbors. I'm very glad that there are companies or businesses out there who wants to help start that change. One of the examples are green advocate shops like Berde.

Berde launched April last year as a passion project. It wasn't planned at all but I started it because the owners wanted to make eco-friendly products accessible and affordable. Berde's my mission is to make these eco-friendly products accessible and affordable because going green shouldn't be expensive. Getting rid of the notion that living a sustainable lifestyle is only for those who can afford.

I must say Berde is one of the affordable shops out there where you can buy eco-friendly items. So now let's check what products they offer!

REUSABLE COTTON ROUNDS 14pcs (SMOOTH 180php, TEXTURED 200php)

Their reusable cotton rounds have 2 variations, smooth and textured. I personally use a textured cotton round to add a little exfoliation when removing my makeup. This item I recommend to everyone out there, instead of purchasing and throwing cotton pads this is a better alternative. I don't mind washing it especially when it lessens the waste I contribute.

BATH BARS (SOAP AND SHAMPOO)

The Bath bars are perfect bath soaps! I tried it once as a shampoo but I prefer to use it on my body. They have 6 variants, Papaya, Activated Charcoal, Calamansi, Cucumber, Adlai and Turmeric 90php fo 110g and 120php for 140g. What we have here are the Calamansi and Activated Charcoal. I must say matagal siya maubos because I'm still using the Calamansi bar and the smell is sooo good! If you're wondering does it bubble easily, yes it does and feels smooth the skin, it leaves your skin properly moisturized and clean. 

REUSABLE METAL STRAW

We have seen this everywhere, but what I usually notice is that it's a little pricey that's why I'm glad Berde retails them at a VERY AFFORDABLE PRICE. You can buy everything separately and make your own set or purchase their bundle which also includes utensils. You can check the prices in their FB page or here.

GUNDAM X UNIQLO

Uniqlo has finally made a collab with one of our favorite shows as a kid, GUNDAM! Last March 28 Uniqlo held a Gundam Trivia Night at their biggest store yet in the PH located at Glorietta 5. They invited fellow bloggers and Gundam enthusiasts to play and bond over their favorite show. I was very glad to attend this event and see how people showed their support and love for both brands!

Inside they displayed Gundam figures and it was cool to see them, I wanted to take some home haha!

Enthusiasts joined together for the Trivia Night and boy was it fun! Of course I didn't much from the show but it was cool to know the answers from all the questions!
